Deborah Bates, 65, of Rochester, who was already having trouble falling asleep, became unable to sleep after learning she had won a $500,000 Powerball win.

In order to win a $50,000 reward in the drawing that took place on December 14,

Bates had to match four white balls as well as the Powerball (36-51-59-66-68 PB:25).

Bates had also used the Power Play option, which raised her win to $500,000 by playing 10 times.

On the website of the Michigan Lottery, she bought her ticket.

Bates said she intends to save the money after travelling to the Lottery offices to accept her win.

Although they were fortunate winners, it's a good idea for players to verify their tickets .

Instead, the funds were transferred to the state's School Aid Fund.
