David Crosby, a well-known folk-rock musician, died at the age of 81, according to Variety.
Crosby's wife, Jan Crosby, announced his passing in a statement.
After a protracted illness, Crosby passed away, according to his wife's writing.
Both the Byrds and Crosby, Still, Nash & Young and Crosby performed together musically.
Crosby over his career also made a few solo recordings (via AllMusic). His most recent work, "For Free," was released in 2021.
Additionally, the affidavit from Crosby's wife Jan stated: "His soul mate Jan, his wife, and their son Django were devotedly encircling [Crosby].
Although he is no longer with us, his humanity and kindness will always serve as an example for us."
Crosby is survived by his wife Jan, son Django, and two children from previous unions.
